While I have read complaints about the cord popping free unintentionally, and have experienced the same thing myself, I’d far rather deal with that putting it back in is a snap, literally, and I never have to mess with it to get a solid connection. The Magsafe adapter seems to be completely free of this problem, and I’d attribute that directly to the design. This has happened with both Apple adapters and third-party, and on both AlBooks and TiBooks, and seems to get worse in positions where sideways stress is put on the connector (as in your lap, for example). I had a lot of problems with the G4 Powerbook adapters getting ‘loose’ in the socket - the adapter plug starts wobbling in the socket, until eventually it takes 30 seconds of fiddling getting the plug situated just right before the laptop gets power.
